I bought 2 kits so far to make my aftermarket HU fit my stock slot. Problem is they both say for 92-95 civics, then in the manual it only says for up to 91 civic.... GAH nothings fitting, and I just don't know what to do now. Right now I have it tucked in the hole, but it bounces shakes rattles and on fast stop it's a rocket. Can anyone point me to a product they KNOW will work? or suggestions on how I can make it fit. Thanks.

:werd: theres a thin basket that sits around the edge of the hu, you usually have to use the keys that are in teh box to get it off, take it off, sit it in the whole in the dash, and bend down some of the pointed tabs with a flat headscrew driver, feed the wires though the large opening and slide it on in man.

use the MOUNTING CAGE. Slide it into the din opening and use a HOOK TOOL to bend the tabs down. Screw drivers dont give a tight enough fit imo

hook tools work sooo much better than screwdrivers. you can bend the tabs in good, and it isnt going anywhere.

I know how to use the metal cage, problem is it doesn't fit in the hole, it's like just barely not able to squeeze by the plastic lip. But my HU is loose, only way I would think I could fit it in is if I shaved a tiny bit of the plastic lip in my car. I just wanted to know if it would be secure enough or if I should find a kit. Thank you all for your replies!

Most of the cages will fit, make sure all the tabs are in. If it really doesn't fit you may need to dremel out some of the plastic. What kind of headunit is it? Even my dvd screen fit into the small ass civic din.

Wow, I've never heard so many fitment issues for just an install kit. The cage should just slide in. I guess you'll need to dremel out some plastic then. The HU can't be safe loose like that.

old post, but it's a dual HU. I'm going to dremel a little plastic, but it should fit, thank you everyone.
