Air bag sensitivity

My car is a '96 coupe. I started to remove the steering wheel a while back, to replace the turn signal cam, and managed to strip the head on one of the air bag mount screws. It's got red thread sealant on the threads. I've read you can loosen the red stuff with a soldering iron tip. Would the air bag be sensitive to heat applied to a mounting screw? Or any greater force than normal applied to a mounting screw?

You'll need to de-energize the bag. Not sure how to do it and just be carefull like don't be in front of it while working on it
