i got a 97 civic ek3, and my uncle gave me a k&n filter
my question is, if i put it in, will i have to do any kind of tune, or it will be changed automatically?

No. You will not need to tune it.
I suggest resetting your ECU by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for about 15 minutes after you install the filter. This will reset your ECU so it can start with clean maps.
