Air Intake and muffler system?

I'll be honest, I'm pretty much a noob with this.

First car inherited from cousin, been driving it for a while and have been making some money.

I have a 91 civic dx 4 door sedan 1.5l i believe.

Automatic

But i still love this car!!!

I was thinking about modifying the air intake and a "performance" muffler, since it's very surface level and not too drastic, but still fun.

I'm not much of a flashy kinda guy, more of a sleeper type.
so i don't really go for body kits.
haha

Any suggestions on which brands to use?

If I should even do it?

Or perhaps any other ways to play with this awesome little go kart.

Any intake will get you the same zero gains... You can get an AEM SRI for cheap on eBay. Or you can get an eBay pipe and AEM filter..... which adds to about the same price just looks a lot worse IMO.

A muffler isn't going to add any performance to your car whatsoever, ever. Id suggest M-OE or an OBX Twin Loop if your wanting a cheap, nice sounding, good looking muffler.

M-OE would be my number one suggestion since it will sounds good with/without silencer but you have that option to take out silencer if you want it a lil louder.
