Hey. So i bought my honda civic ex manual a few weeks ago. I'm trying to find out how to get the best gas milage possible. I was told that a new air intake system would help. I'm fairly new to this stuff. What does the air intake system do? what should i be looking for when looking for one?
any info would be great!

It makes your car louder, that's about it. Changing the air filter when it's dirty help as well as oil changes and other tune ups. The best proven way to increase mpg is to turn the a/c off as much as you can stand.

Just to reiterate, don't spend money on an air intake, just replace your air filter with a name brand element.

Be careful if you get an oiled filter like k&n. If you don't clean/oil it properly you will end up sucking the oil into the engine, and down the road it causes problems. What engine btw?

That's why I like AEM Dry-flow filters more. You can just wash the AEM and air dry and pop it back in.

yeah air intakes are not really worth it. if u get a ram intake or pod filter it will actual make ur car loose power.

If he just gets a drop in K&N filter from any auto parts store it won't need to be oiled. Op I used to get around 32mpg driving my auto 95 civic with a kinda heavy foot considering it had no power. How do you drive? At what rpm do you shift? 30mpg isn't bad, you may just need a tune up and to male sure your tires are inflated correctly to pick up another 5. Assuming you don't drive too crazy

I've never heard of any k&n being a dry filter. Correct me if I'm wrong, but event the oem drop-in filters need oiled.
