Alarm Help..

sup guys...wanted to know how much a good alarm system runs for????...moving to LA so....need a alarm....one that is decent...

if you going to install it youself you can find a viper or compustar on ebay for about 200. but if you go to a shop and have them install one, your looking at 400-600 bucks. dei produts are good(viper,python) or i herd compustar is also good.

I'm using the Code Alarm CS1300 and i think it works good for my purposes. I bought it from Circuit City for $100. It depends on what you want the alarm to do. This one doesnt start the car and it only transmits and recieves within a 400 ft range. I installed it in like an hour in my 98 cx hatch.

Don't go cheap on the alarm. Most important mod you can do.

My alarm didnt cost much but it worked beautifully when someone smashed the window out to get my stereo. I'm sure some cheap alarms arent worth it but i found the one i purchased to be of good quality.

By cheap I mean quality not price. If you can find an inexpensive alarm that functions properly go for it. if the alarm doesn't a whole bunch of features (remote start, lcd pager, etc...) you can get a good one for a reasonable price.
