Alarm LED

is it hard changing your alarms LED? I want this blue light bar that runs back and fourth in a straight line to cover up my VIN number...

Its not hard at all. I actually have one of those. All I did was cut the old LED wires and put the new ones wires in its place. Just twist and electrical tape. There are two wires and thats it. My old led you couldnt even see cuz the shift nob hid it. This one you can actually see and it has different patterns of light you can pick from.

Why dont you just put electrical tape or some s**t over your VIN?...
Take it from someone who has friends who knows a lot of theives... Those little alarm LED's do more harm than good. Yeah, to you that light says "I have an alarm, stay away from my car".. But to anyone else, its going to say "He has an alarm.. Lets see what kinda of s**t he has...." Having a crazy, moving light on the inside of your car will bring even MORE attention to it.

But those are my thoughts on the matter.. and for the record, changing the led isnt hard at all.. LIke Lan01 said, its just a power wire and ground..

I have to agree with Sodee, there are tons of cars on the road with rims and body kits and so on, but they dont have a beacon in the night calling out ......"Ive got something in here that I dont want you to be able to get to" Just my opinion though...remember, its still your car

my stock integra... if it was to be stolen they'd be highly HIGHLY dissapointed. I'm not worried. If they really wanted it, they'd take it. I just want to cover up my VIN. Thanks though, I believe the LED will be my next mod.

just out of curiousity, why do u need to cover up the vin number. last time i got pulled over, the cop checked it, wouldnt it be a problem if u threw a led bar over it?

they will tow your s**t in a heartbeat the cops will if you cover up that vin i was sitting in a parking lot waitng for a buddy. and 2 cops come out of know were ask me to step out of the car checked my lisnce asked me why i was just sitting here. they told me to pop the hood they took block number transnumber called that s**t in then they looked at my vin and it had tap over it and was like wtf that there for im like so know one stealls my s**t hes like that doesnt matter do you have something to hide im like no. and i went to tear the tap off and was thrown back they said they could do it them selfs called that s**t in everything came back clean but they said if they see it like that while its parked it will be towed

No they wouldnt be dissapointed.. Even though its an auto, they'd still have your s**t in a million pieces, ready for sell.. They would sell the engine, interior, wheels, exterior panels, glass and would dump your tranny/ecu in a lake after pissing on it..

Seriously, did you not know that Teg's are one of the top stolen cars? Also like someone else said, there are ppl out there who will bust your window for the leds.. $50 window > $10 LED's... Dont do it.. I know it sucks but its hard to have anything nice anymore because there is always someone who will want your s**t enough to do something about it.

Umm thieves have carfax too.. Trust me, I know they use that s**t. They get the VIN, check out what goodies it has, and if its worth snatching up then they start making plans and collecting what they need... Jesus, man there are so many things they can tell from the outside of your car, I just wont say anymore because thieves frequent this site too im sure.. Just dont think that debadging your Si is going to fool anyone, because it wont.

and Why cant we go back to the days where people just stole your battery?

I do know what an integra is capable of having... trust me. By far it's the reason why I purchased an integra in the first place. I dont know. Although an integra has alot of parts availible for it... i still think they'll be highly dissapointed.. i mean, stock LS engine, auto tranny, non-leather seats, etc. etc... whatever. i'll see how things go. i just liked the blue flashy thing. lol.

There's still a market for those things, hell right now infact im looking for a B18B and some cloth Teg seats( I hate leather..) .. I could see if you had something really really shitty (like my y8)under your hood but you still have a B series.. People want it
