Alright, I bought a Viper 560XV Alarm/Remote System yesterday. Is the neutral safety switch the only thing extra i will need to install, given the fact that it has a standard tranny? and where can i find one for the SI? Thanks!

the neutral safety switch is only for auto trans. that ensures your car is in park or neutral before the remote start engages. if you wanna do it for a M/T, you will need to bypass the clutch & ground the neutral switch (which I HIGHLY dont reccomend) or rig a special kind of frame that only grounds when in neutral (im still designing mines) if you start your car and accidentally leave it in gear, it will move or mess up your tranny, which you dont want!

why not just park your car in neutral? Then you dont need to worry about this. I thought that directed was going to come out with a switch for manual trannys...

BTW: your info says you live in AL, how cold could it possibly get that you need remote start there?

That is completely wrong

to do a manual transmission you need a neutral safety switch or adapter

they usually run around around 100 bucks

dei -part number

689m

The neutral safety adapter runs through parking brake

foot brake and door

you have to di a certain sequence then autorun the vehicle before you exit

not for mine it wasnt, my neutral safety switch was for auto trans. it grounded out when in park or neutral. auto start would not kick in unless this was properly grounded.

ha im sure our winters are nothing compared to those in WI, but it does get chilly and im always in a rush so the remote start would save me about 5 to 10 minutes. Thanks!
