ok, I have worked myself into a jam with the police. heres the whole story::

I am military living in West Row, outside RAF Lakenheath, was in the country about 4 month in an american car when i had to goto war for 3 months. While i was gone the wife wrecked the car. So we buy a new one - a nice 97 civic coup. Well the owners tried to MOT it the day we bought it, and it failed for bad shocks - so i get it off the road get the paper work to say its off the road, and order new shocks (kyb adjustables and handr lowering springs). Put them in and I broke the pinch bolt on the strut fork, didnt think nothing of it and took it to re MOT it. Failed again for the missing bolt. So I rent another car for get the parts to fix it, well im on my way on base to our auto hobby shop to rent a lift and fix this problem so i can go re MOT again since I had 14 days till I had to repay again. And the base police stop me ticket me and call the MOT police from off base. He gave me a ticket, and told me I had 7 days to turn the ticket in to the police station with all the needed papers.
He said I would get sommens, and I could plead my case. I have all the paper work saying it was off the road and I was taking it to fix and then to re MOT. I also have the old road tax disc fromt he first car, b/c we are give our first year free, when we enter the country. i was waiting to get the mot to get the new tax disc saying you have ot have it.

SOOO, how much s**t am I in and how much is this going to cost me? Hopefuly someone knows a loop hole I dont and can help me out.
