Okay, well i just got an Alpine CDA-9851, Type S components, and 6x9's in the rear with a MRP-F240 or w/e that 40x4 watt amp. So i turn it on, and it was installed by a professional and everything works great... it just happens when i turn the volume around 14 / 15 + it starts to cut off in parts of the song? i assume its to protect the speakers or something? or is it just a defect? and how do i get rid of it cause 15 isnt loud at all to me..? Whats the problem?

my old Alpine worked wonderfully at around 16 or 17 with full bass :what:
i'd say it's defective.
have you tried to contact alpine or whoever installed it?

Since you paid a pro to do it, bring it back and make them figure it out. Don't go poking around and possibly making it worse.

yea. i have the same hu and i can turn it up to 28 with no cackling. i would say its the wiring/check to make sure the wires are on the speakers good, if its not that then take it to the "pros" that did it. ( i say pros sarcasticly because when the speaker cuts out, its usually a wiring issue )

yeah its definately the wiring, or if not, a defect. Take it back to the shop and have them fix it. If its a defect, and the shop you took it to is an authorized alpine dealer, they should get you a new one no problem.

lol they prolly poked it putting it in. i've learned that "professional" doesn't actually mean "good" when it comes to installs. did you goto cc or bb? both suck. they cracked my spacer and left it in there for me to fix. and they dont even know how to install dynamat. its a joke how they get away with that.

I prefer the small shops vs. the big conglomerates. Typically the guys who run small shops are into the scene and do better work. I am a little biased since my cousin is one of those guys and always takes really good care of me.

I got it done at Tweeter. A nice company, small.. remote... and they seemed knowledgeable. The guy said the components just didnt handle the power that was put to them... something about he turned up the amp or something. Oh well im getting some new comps for free so its all good. HE said it shouldnt have happend but did... just my luck, everything i seem to do to my car some way causes more trouble then is said to.
