I am about to purchase some Alpine 6x9 speakers (3-way(Alpine SPS-690A))(IF not would getting Alpine Type-R's be just as good / better?). But Crutfield.com says that they wont fit in my car? Do they fit or dont they, and why not? I drive a 98 EX Coupe... Any help will be of use, and also im getting a Alpine MRP-F250 amp to run the 6x9 and Alpine-S Components in the front... will that amp be sufficient? Thanks Guys.

umm...any 6x9 will fit in a 6x9 spot lol...
the type S are great... i have 6.5 in front and 5.25 in back (5th gen) anyway yea i had problems installing mine cuzfor the front... the mounting brackets that came wit it will only bolt on to one screw... i had to duct tape it down then put my speakers on the brackets. and the back didn't evne have mounting brackets... and it didn't reach all the bolts nor did the pattern match... ionno but like i said.. i have 5th gen not 6th but good speakers tho if powered right...
the type r's may be too deep - can't remember if they will clear the torsion bars for the trunk lid.... that may be why they list them as not fitting.... i know the type s will fit... if you get the type r's you will NEED an amp - they sound like junk without an amp... deck power is not enough for those - the type s you can run off of deck power but an amp is ALWAYS better.... alpine still makes the most installer un-friendly products out there though...
i have the 6.5" type-s in the front, cause the type-r's won't fit in the front, and 6x9" type-r in the rear with no problems... had them for about 3 years now and haven't had any problems whatsoever
