Altinator? Please need advice

Ok so I changed my altinator last year got the autozone one with warranty. So I have a 95 Honda civic I was drivin at night all of a sudden my lights and dash board will get very bright for like a minute then go back to normal n then the batt light wud stay on for same lenth of time the brightness was which was a minute. It wud do this day time or night Even if the brightness last for 10 sec batt light turns on immediately after for 10 secs. Oh and batt is about 2 years old maybe 1 and half. What cud problem be altinator? Or a bad connection? Or? Please help

Haha altinator sounds like a super villain.

It could be a faulty alternator with bad diodes causing a surge in the charging system. Those AutoZone ones are rebuilt and they only honor their warranty if it fails their stress test which is at a pretty low rpm.

Just return the alternator for a replacement. Don't take no for an answer. They'll give you another one.

It's the alternator... I know from experience.. It was the voltage regulator both times and it's a yearly thing for me

Its the AutoZone in the alternator that's the problem.

Check your chassis grounds also and replace your battery while your at it.

But it definitely sounds like ur altinator to me

If you could have, OEM is always best, but is expensive.
I've always had good luck with NAPA and would go with them over AZ any day.

I only deal with o'reilys or napa have never had any trouble out of them and they actually know things about cars.
Knowledge of cars dosent exist at any autozone around here.

The opposite where I'm at. Autozone swaps mine out no questions asked because of the lifetime warrantee. Of course, every store is different at every location.

They wouldn't have to be swapped out if they weren't such pieces of trash. A faulty alternator can really screw up your car

hahahaha yeeeeee out in my neck of the woods we have a saying "if there is a cheap part with a lifetime warranty theres a reason for the price and a reason for that warranty "lol
