amber lighting

Quick question..with a couple of the DIY ive seen for amber gauge clusters, climate control, etc. - they buy the replacement bulbs and then paint those...why wouldn't you just paint the OEM bulbs?

mainly because its better to have a fresh set of bulbs. after a while, your stock bulbs start getting dimmer and dimmer.

the stock bulbs have a blueish cover over them. i dunno... I didn't paint mine, i ended up using an orange sharpie, and it works really well.

buy new ones because it will be brighter, most of the kids who have just painted the stock ones complained of the lighting being too dim.

you can prolly remove the bulb covers and make them clear, then just use red taillight repair tape in back of the buttons. turned out really nice on my 7thgen
