alright so I have an Alpine V12 620watt amp and yesterday everythin was workin fine with it then today i go to get in it and the amp doesnt work. I open the trunk and the power light is red and the protection light is red as well. So i pull the fuse and the car revs up to like 1500 and im like wtf and the fuse was good so i go to put it back in and when it makes connection the car idles downto a low idle like 6-700ish. I go check the fuse under the hood and its good. Any idea on what is goin on? i havent really had time to take a really good look at it cuz im on lunch from work. Thanks

This might sound like a dumb question, but where did you run your power cable?

If your power wire is good with a fuse coming 6-12 inches away from the battery and you have a good contact on your ground. I then would look at how you wired the subs in. Depending on what Ohm your amp can take and how you wired your subs in will make a difference. I had almost the same problem I had a amp that would support all the way down to 2Ohms and I had 2ohms subs. What I did though was I wired them in bridge and dropped the Ohms down to 1Ohm or 0.5 ohms I can't remember exactly. Anyways my amp went into protect mode and I had to send it back and make up some story so I could get a replacement for free.
