I dont believe this, but one of my friends said that an amp can make u lose power if you dont have a cap. Cause it takes power from the battery...obviously....but that shouldnt affect performance...right? if this is tru...then i guess u should turn off your lights and fogs and radio when u race haha. what are the facts

it puts a larger strain on your alternator which is driven by the engine. when a vehicle is running, the electronics run off the alternator, not the battery.

yeah, if you're running a huge amp you lose a lil power. turning off your headlights and fogs is a lil extreme if your racing, especially if your racing at night like i'd assume.

actually your friend is wrong. Even with a cap your car will lose power. A cap is not a magical cylinder that adds more power to a car stereo system built by the elves deep in the woods of idiotland.
The only thing that is going to supply the needed power for a good powered systenm is a HO alternator. The cap is then used to regulate the voltage the system is getting.

Most of the time friends shouldnt be listenend to
