Amp for my speakers

Sorry if this is a double post, searched for a bit and couldn't find anything dealing with my question.

Right now I have 2 10's in my trunk, and they have their own amp and they are happy.

However, I am not happy with the power being put out from my speakers.

I have 2 6.5" pioneers in my front two doors, and 2 6 x 9's in my rear deck (pioneer also), the rear I think are around 150 rms, 300 max, the front was something like 30 rms, 160 peak wattage.

Should I upgrade my front door speakers?

And on to my main question, I want more power for these speakers. They can handle more, I would like more, and I believe an amp is the best way to get more power/performance out of what i've got. Am I wrong?

Could anyone point me to what I would look for in an amp, as well as a decent brand? I was planning on running new speaker wire when I did this, and ill mount it under the passenger seat, or maybe even to the back of the back seat, depending on size. I just need some input on if this is a good step to take, and what brands, and what I would need for my use.

Thanks for your input!

LOL I have the EXACT same set up as you do as far as speakers go, 6x5 in the fronts, 6x9 in the back, pioneer and a pioneer deck. For amps I recmomend you get a Pionner GM-6200F 4-Channel amp for your speakers. I currently have that in my hatch (No Subs.. not planning on gettin any as I dont wanna blow up my ears) and it sounds hella good... a nice deep thump, sounds like subs... everything sounds nice and crisp... definetley go for that man.. hope that helps

i always liked alpine for highs...just make sure and get a four channel amp with seperate adjustable gains...so you can tone down the rear speakers...

as far as amps go i would get one that is on your price range b/c all amps do the same thing, they amplify signal, the more expensive ones do a better job of doing that as far as delivering more clean power, but i would make sure when you install it you get a good set of rcas and make sure that they are 4 channel rcas, by doing this there will be less noise noticed. I have an eclipse 5 channel running eclipse 3 ways in the front and eclispe 4 ways in the back, w/ a JL 8" in a ported box and it sounds great.

Ok, so I purchased an amp, and while waiting for it to arrive, ive had a small concern.

I dont think my little honda battery/alternator can power 2 seperate amps?

what would I need to upgrade in order to handle this extra power?

I was using 2 amps on the stock battery/alternator, and everything was fine. The only problem I had was when the bass hit kinda hard, all my lights would dim. But it wasent noticable unless I was stoped at a light or a stop sign.
