So I just bought a cheap eBay amp, and it's already dead. So here's my story... I was probably listening to an hours worth of music, and it just died... so I figured the amp overheated... but when I got home and looked I noticed the amp isn't getting any power... why is this? blown fuse? sorry for the nubish question... don't know much about car audio...

It doesn't show rms anywhere, and I'm pretty sure it's not that many watts...

go put a new fuse in the power wire
then some new ones in the back of the amp, if that doesnt work then theres something internally wrong with the amp

sorry to be so general. your amp should have fuses in it, and there should be an in-line fuse in teh power cable. also check to see that you're getting power from the turn-on wire (usually a skinny blue one from cd player to amp)

yup. forgot to suggest the ground. no ground = no power

That's probably one of those things that you should check before posting up here ;)

Well I didn't know... I had a friend tell me it was probably the fuse... but I figured I'd go ahead and ask on here... who knows... maybe someone else will find this handy in the near future. 8)

that's the way to do it. check all the simple stuff first, it can't hurt anything.
