Go with an amp that can put out 200 watts x 2 channels @ 4ohms. That would be my recommendation. General rule of thumb, you don't want to feed the subs more than their RMS rating.

Never go by the "max" rating.

Any amp from Alpine's V-Power series would go great with those subs. The line is pretty well priced also. Just follow the guidelines provided above and you shouldn't have any issues.

LUNAR amp. Look it up. They are pricey, but well worth it.

i've been told that it's better to have enough power than to have not enough power...maybe running 300-400 rms??...(800w x 1 @ 2ohms)???

^^ yea me too, you'll blow your subs easier with not enough power. I wouldn't go max but I also wouldn't go minimum

The reason why I said to go with the RMS rating is because...that is the amount of power that the subs can handle on a continuous basis. Its the amount of power its made to handle all of the time..so you don't have to worry about blowing them even if you do play them loud because that is what they were designed for. I wouldn't go too much over the RMS rating.

well, i was thinking something in the ball park of about 300-400 rms per sub....so does anyone know if running 800w x 1 @ 2 ohms would work???....(this means that each sub is getting 400w constantly right??))

i'd recommend a v-power as well. i have a 400w powering my 12" type r and i'm very pleased with v-power performance.
