Amp Remote Wire Issues...

Alright! I'm Tryna Wire A Amp For My Stereo System And I Was Wondering Out Of All The Colorfull Wires In The Wiring Harness Which One Do I Hook The "remote" Wire From The Amp To? I Don't Have A Power Antenna So That Option Is Out, And I've Tried The 12v Power Wire And Still No Response.

you hook the remote wire from your amp to your remote wire on your deck, unless your using a factory deck, then you run it to the ignition wire which runs your acc power, 12 volt only when thecar is on, you wouldnt want to hook it up to the 12 volt costant wire b/c your amp would never cut off. but if you did hook it up to your 12volt constant wire and had no response, your amp might be cashed (broken) considering that your fuse,power connection, and ground are all good.

and also include what car your working on since harnesses can be different, it would help when you refer to the "rainbow of wires"

your remote power comes from the head unit(radio) it should have an out colored blue that is for either amp or power ant. You might need to run wire back to the amp from the radio. Most rca cables have a third wire DO NOT use that (its a ground) run new 16 - 18ga. the amp on is a switched lead ( comes on when the key is in run position) you could use any other circuit that does that as well. dont run straight batt voltage to the amp on.

Usually your remote amp wire is BLUE with a WHITE stripe.

Righht!....that's what i was missing. I thought i had to use the amp wire from the deck but i second guessed myself. Since it being a aftermarket deck that i picked up from a buddy of mine i gotta look up it'd harnes on google, but thanks for the help guy's can always count on my fellow bradas!..and sista's...lol.

the amp remote wire goes to the Blue wire with a White stripe that goes to the cd player....shouldnt be to hard to find...
