Amplifier Configuration

I am having a hell of a time trying to decide what configuration I want to run. I am looking for overall sound quality in all freq ranges. I have upgraded my speakers and head unit in my 01 sedan, and my original plan was to get a 4 channel amp to 4 speakers, and bridge a sub in tri-mode. Is there a better setup that I can run, or is this the best route to go.

I can figure out the brand and power output on my own, I just need help on the layout. Total sound quality is my goal.

i will tell you what i did with my four channel amp...bridged the rear channels to the SUB...crossed over the front channels for the front...and left the rear speakers on deck power for rear fill...get an amp with a variable crossover for both front and rear channels....this way you dont have to get a bass coil for the sub...and later if you want you can add another amp just for the sub and move the rear speakers to the rear channels of your four channel amp...make sense?

Yeah I know what you mean, I never thought of that, it sounds good. Have the fronts powered by the amp will give you the in your face sound, and the sub will powered by it's own channel. Then the rears fill in the back end. I will have all four speaker on the amp at first because I won't have a sub yet, but will set it up like this when I do get it.

I have always heard the opposite, run the fronts off the head unit, but I don't like that because it puts all my power behind me.

Your best bet if you have the money is to get two seperate amps, one 4 channel for each of the speakers, and one mono or bridged 2 channel for the subs.
