i have a problem with pyramid pb446x...the when i plug in both rca cables (positive and negative) into the amp, and turn off my cd deck. My subwoofer vibrates non stop and keeps going...when i unplug one rca cable from the amp...the vibration stops from the sub but the sub also turns off...

basically overall...i have to leave my cd player on all the time to make sure the vibration doesnt come. if i turn it off...all of a sudden the subwoofer starts to vibrate at high rates..."boom boom boom boom ..."

i dont know how to trouble shoot it..im pretty sure its the amp but i dont know how to fix it.

help pelase...thanks

:word: don't you love troubleshooting shorts? Make sure to check your rca wiring too and that there's not bare wire exposed anywhere and touching metal stuff like your frame. Oh and the two rca wires aren't pos and neg, they're L channel and R channel.

Not to sound like a d**k, but the problem might be the fact that it's Pyramid. I would buck up and spend $ on some better quality. If your still tryin to stay a lil cheap, just look into some small Pioneer or Sony..I've never heard anything good from Pyrmaid.

He means to put another head unit in to see if it still does it. If it doesn't that means that is your problem. If it still does it, put another amp in and see if it stops.

I also think that it might be the amp. Nothing good has come of Pyramid. I am guessing that something internal is screwy or grounding out in the amp causing it to thump like that. Thumping like that means that there isn't sufficient power going to the amp (meaning that it is struggling to do it's thing and having power surges) or one of your wires is grounding out somewhere (also causes surges).

i have been using a legacy amp for over 5 years now with no probs....and legacy is like a branch of pyramid....i guess its just a hit and miss....

i say get new rca wires and see if that fixes it....
