nick1982, the problem I had is different from yours, but I will tell how it did it.
Tools:
1.flat head screwdriver
2.blow dryer
3.resealing gaulk silicone gel
4.gaulk gun
5.time (about 2 hours)
6.patience
7.maybe another friend to help (optional)
Long story longer. I opened up the headlights with the blowdryer and flat head screwdriver and tighten up a lose srew that holds the projector lense up. Which is why one headlight was too low and the other look to bright.
Your problem sounds like the halo ring burnt out. If you choose to open the headlight you can preaty much dismantel the whole thing. It's just screws you have to remove. Check the wiring that connect directly to the halo light first and see if that fixes the problem and connect them back to the car just how they are in pieces. If that doesn't work, then you probably will have to replace the halo ring. Which is possible people sell them seperetly all the time. Check your local import magazines.
To re-seal the headlights you will have to prep both pieces with the blow dryer. Re-heat them and remove all the excess original glue. Then put them back together as tight as you can with your hands. Then use the gaulk gun with the gaulk silicone gel to reseal them. Put the tip of the gun right on the grove where the headlight comes apart and shoot some in there. You should see some of the silicone gel go inside which is a good sign. Then just do the whole thing. Allow it to dry for about 15 min, then you can put them back on your car. If when it rains or you wash your car the headlights condense, just wait for them to dry and reseal them again.
I have done this process many times with many different cars. It's totally safe and very good method. Some people are afraid to do it, but you just have to be careful and have patience. Once you have mastered it you can do it in less time.
Well, hope this helps if not sorry dude. God Bless
