Another engine swap thread

So I'm new here and just bought a '96 Civic LX and was looking to swap for a more powerful engine such as a B18 or a K20. Can you guys tell me which engine is the easiest to drop in and what other parts I'll need and should i get a new transmission. Thanks for help guys

Neither are easy swaps but a b series would need less fabrication. Both swaps have been covered already, so I would suggest you search and indulge yourself with info before attempting either.

haha, you dont need fabrication to do a B series swap or a K swap. You simply need the parts and drop them in. Since i've done both, I think they are equal in difficulty and I don't feel that either are hard at all. I did each of them by myself. There is a larger checklist of parts for the k swap, and that's about the only difference.

Either swap, you'll need a transmission to match. You won't be using your sohc transmission with a K or B series swap.

Check out craigslist, I bet you'll find more b series parts for your build... I did a b18c5 last summer that was fairly easy, but definitely do your homework and do it right.
