if you dont want to answer these questions for security reasons then by all means, dont answer them. but i have a couple of questions for you.

1.) ive only been able to find one place that offers lojack service and thats vehiclerecover.com. if you use something different or know of something different then can you please direct me.

2.) if you installed it yourself, how was the install?

3.) whats included in your service plan?

4.) anything else i should be weary about?

once again dont answer these questions if you feel it will breach your security

ive got a lot of theft deterants on my car but i can never have too many. the next thing after lojack will be a boot

I've heard (from people who work on cars and modified cars for a living) that Lojack is worthless without Early Warning.

More here on their site. Sorry I really don't know much about it, but I figured I'd do the little I can to help and even if it doesn't help.... at leats it's a *bump*.

Sorry that it doesn't answer any of your direct questions either. :(

hmm... on the vehiclerecover.com website it lists these as its features:

- Real-Time Tracking of the Vehicle whenever you need it
- Track one vehicle or a fleet of 1000’s of vehicles using your Internet account
- Set alerts to know if your vehicle is moved without permission
- Be alerted if the vehicle leaves the territory you specify
- Continuous Tracking capable
- Pinpoint Accuracy up to 30 Feet
- Keeps 90 days of Location Information
- Tracking in USA and Canada
- Very Easy to Install (no tools required)
- Lower Insurance Rates
- Overnight shipping available

do you think the one in bold be the same thing as Early Warning. and i guess i answered one of my questions about ease of install which doesnt make me too happy that its very easy, cuz if its really easy to install then its really easy to take out...

i heard lojack is worthless period lol...
thieves have smartened up and they pretty much know where it would be and they would tear the unit off..
i would go with something cheaper like the gps units on the market..they are like $400 or so...
and get the boot first :D

You can get a good alarm that has a back up battery in it plus a remote that tells you if the alarm is going off. Then hide the box somewere that he really hard to get to. I mean like take the whole dash apart and put it so tight up in there, you don't want to ever take it back out. Or just in the rear trunk near the struts. By the time a thieve finds out the unit is in the trunk they will have 5.0 on their arse.

I have early warning from lo jack

I had them (lo jack) install the unit, which was a grand total of $1069.45, they came to my house, took around 1 1/2 to install. I got a remote which is needed to move the car w/o having lo jack contact me telling me my car has been moved w/o permission. I was looking around for GPS units like the one from viper and it was 699.99 from an authorized viper retailer, I was leaning towards that until I found out that there is a monthly fee (which is 10-15 dollars a month depending on the amount of features you choose to have, which I was told by a local viper authorized dealer) So I did the math and it would end up being more expensive (in the long run)compared to lo jack and it ends up doing the same thing. Plus the one thing I love about early warning is that if your car is not found in 24 hours, lo jack gives you 6k =) which will cheer me up lol

I really wish I had a way to protect my column and ignition. I can't seem to find anything suitable and "invisible" though.

Esurance covers up to (I think it was) $3500-$3900 in mods. Not really that much though when you think about it.
