just got it and i'm not that experienced with alarms and wanted to see if anyone has tips or diy for the alarm install to guide me along the way. thanks.

my only tip is if youve never done one before and have any reservations about tapping into the ignition harness, and being on your back for many hours, take it to a shop

that compustar is a great unit, but a pain to install, its not for the novice

installing it yourself for the first time sucks, pay the man and it will save you alot of trouble.

I have done it. It is very time consuming. If you do it take your drivers seat out for better access to the underdash wiring. It took me about 4 hours which included removing my old alarm. That acutally saved time since all the wires needed for the locks and such were already found.
