Attacking Corners

My goal is to get an Si 2000, which I am soon, just waiting for homeboy in town to fix it up and put it up for posting.

so Apparently I'm working slowly on my suspensions/brakes/etc etc

I read up bout Koni, ehh sticking to Tein( I just trust it more)

So far I got.
Tein SS Coilovers
and many more( don't got my book with me or remember top my head)

But I'm here for suggestions from others, and how to handle corners better.
when a car is already sliding at 145 degree, but turnt out to 180 degree straight to the rails.
how can I maintain my car in the position( I know it requires skills )
but am asking which set or combination can help me maintain and make me handle the car with ease, easier?
or just to not even slide at all.

just to not even slide at all.
Grip is better than sliding in a fwd car
Nothing is wrong with Koni, but since you say you have super streets from tein anyway, there's almost no point in switching springs and shocks.
Tons of us could give you advice on having better handling, but honestly it all depends on the driver. When you brake, your reaction time, your driving lines, and tons of other factors determine what you need to make you corner harder and faster. You need to get out and drive...learn your car...learn your weak points....and make improvements based off of what you discover.

Thanks, just don't want to F'ed up at turns, lol.and no I don't have tein ss coilover, and I know theres nothing wrong with koni.
I just hear tein shouts a little more because I never hear anything about koni, but maybe ill give in some day if I find a worthy review.

Their are alot more options than just tein and koni you will have pro and cons on everyone. Some people have had problems with one product other people haven't. Its just how it goes.

Are you into road racing or autocross? Like Child said, just get out there and drive. Heck, your car can be stock ans still drive through a turn, in this case it would be just about all drive skill.

Care to explain?

Just in my experience, and from what I've read numerous times from engineers who've shock and spring dyno'ed these companies products, Tein is far below Koni in terms of performance. They can't even be compared.. Even more so when talking about price.

But I'm here for suggestions from others, and how to handle corners better.

What exactly is going on? Is your car understeering or oversteering? What other mods do you have? What tires are you using? What PSI? Alignment specs? There's more to making a car handle well than throwing a $1500 coilover setup at it.

And don't take offense, but if your struggling to keep the car controled and on your line, it's you and not the car. If you aren't already, try autoxing. You'll learn car control possibly to the point where you may change your mind about changing your suspension and/or with what you decide to choose for your suspension.

I appreciate every one thoughts and comments. I will read more up on Koni, and I only trusted tein because it is a recognizable brand. its like saying you can't eat sushi cause raw fish.

I'm slowly learning and taking in knowledge and appreciate for all the help.

Thanks civexspeedy and CHILD+Hecz, is there any serious video that can take me into koni more? if can, I really would love the link.

I'm planning on going Koni/GC as my first setup. Luckily I had no money to spend that's why I didn't buy anything cheap lol.

Tein was hyped up for years, mainly by people who didn't know any better. It's died down a little... Not saying Tein is horrible, they make some decent stuff. But way overpriced and the performance just isn't up to par.

If you want to learn about what people are using and why, read some of the autox/road race forums around. You'll find Koni is an extremely popular shock to use by people who race their cars, and for many good reasons. You'll also notice anyone semi-serious isn't using stuff like Tein, Function & Forum, Blox, Megan Racing, etc... There's a bazillion threads on all kinds of forums on Koni products, just search around and read w/e comes up.

when I was reading up about Koni, I heard they are suppose to be used at their softest setting, you just adjust it as you ride....I really got comfused when I heard about that.

What determines where to set them are your spring rates, your other modifications, driving conditions and personal driving style/preference. Mainly conditions and driving style/preference. It takes some tuning to get them set where you think it's best. It's not hard and takes just a minute to adjust all 4 if you need to.

Personally with mine, when I first put them on and had the rest of my suspension finished, I played with the settings and tuned them best I could for racing. After that, I haven't touched them in forever. But that's just me. Others I race with adjust them frequently depending on course design, pavement, tire pressures, other mods, etc...

But for normal, fun street use, find what you like and leave it.

If you're going to spend that much on LCA's, get Function7's.

^ that's one site... there are tons. Just google stuff, very easy to find parts for a decent price for these cars.

Some off the top of my head.

ClubCivic Store
weaksauceparts.com
heeltoeauto.com
kingmotorsports.com

the mass amounts of vendors on Honda-Tech which offer member discounts and have specials all the time..
