Attitude and intake

I got a AEM intake for my civic hatch but im wondering if being at such a high altitude in denver is ruining the point. The intake itself sits low down by the the smaller grills, i dont know why.

The purpose of of the cold air intake is to bring in cold air into the engine. All the cars in Denver have air intakes. Leave it on there man, its doing its job.

I would say, yes, you prob wasted your money,especially on something as pricey and AEM.
It's simple science, the higher the altitude, the harder ANY car has to work for air.
