hey all.. i'm trying to get my audio system done during upcoming spring break. i have 2 weeks left to do all research and shop around. i already have Alpine MRP-F450 (4 channel, 75w rms) and it's not hooked up yet. the speakers i already have now is pioneer 6.5" front and pioneer 6x9 rear. i am definitely going to hook up the amp to my speakers, once everything is planned out. i have four options:
1. replace the front and rear with coaxial speakers. i'm thinking Polk Audio db650/651 front and Polk db691 rear.
2. replace just the front with Polk db650/651, keep the rears
3. replace the front with Polk MMC6500 component speaker or any other component speaker (i'm thinking either Boston Acoustics SX60 or Infinity reference), keep the rears
4. replace front with component speaker (like number 3) and also change the rears
as for headunits, i'm considering to replace mine with Alpine CDA-9883 or 9885 too (depending on how much money i have left), but i'd rather spend whatever money i have now for speakers and change out the headunit later on. current headunit is Panasonic CQ-C3303U, i hate it but i guess i can live with it for another month or two.
i listen to jazz/classical/new age most of the time but often i do listen to alternative rock/trance progressive/some hip hops. i'm more into SQL rather than SPL. subwoofer is not an option for me, my trunk is leaking a little water, so i'd rather not to have anything in the trunk. so, which one would be the best choice for me? please help me decide guys, any comments or suggestion will also be appreciated!
