Audio console head unit placement opinions

So i now have three head units, all single din, ones a ten year old pioneer, ones a alpine cda-9886, and the other is a new kenwood still in the box. Alpine's cd playe is f**ked, but it has better sq than the kenwood, but the kenwood has a front aux etc. Anyways im wanting to put the kenwood in the audio console and put cup holders where the single din slot is below the a/c knobs. Anyone hae any bad experience with liquids leaking out of the cupholders and f**king up their headunits down in thir audio console? Idk if theres enough room to stick the cup holders in the audio console without it hitting the bottom of it.

it would help if we knew what gen your civic is?

If it's the 5th gen, my friend had the optional audio console with the cupholders up top and had no problems

if it's the 6th gen, are you talking about doing this?

Yeah and if youve got a 5th gen this is how I've got mine set up. Cup holders wouldnt really work in the bottom do to the shifter.

ive never seen a audio console in a ek,
It's not a special piece, all 96-98's have them.
Either it's an extra pocket, or a spot for the factory cassette player or single disc CD player.

Thanks, actually the boot is custom. I bought the fabric and had my mom sew it up for me to match my headliner.

Just order some fabric and find someone with basic sewing machine skills
