so as many of you have see, my car has 3 gauges in the dash, one is an oil pressure gauge. the T-fitting that goes into the block snapped, and along with it, the line broke. Well i fixed my car already, but i wanted my aguae to be functional again. does anyone have any suggestions where to get a line like that and what kinda material would be good for a new t fitting?? thanks

Run some lines off the port in the back to the firewall(leave some slack for engine movement) then put the T on the firewall

ok so i figured out what the name of that thing is .. its the oil pressure sensor line .. i need the fitment size for that line... but i was told 1/8 bspt ... and acura is pretty sure thats what it is ... so .. any one else hear otherwise ?

EDIT*** so i was researching.. and i found this on homemadeturbo.com ...

Brass T - A Brass T will hook up on the back off the block 1/8bsp is the thread pitch. A 3 way splitter will have to be used. 1 for your stock Oil Pressure Gauge, 1 for your Oil feed line (1/4 barb fitting) and the other to a brass extension from the block. I like to use High pressure line from Napa (350psi Tranny line 5/16) about 4.5 feet you will need. I also flare the fitting on the turbo side and double hose clamp it. For oil return, you will have to install a fitting in your oil pan and create a return line for oil drainage from the turbo. It's pretty easy to do. On the Brass T, most fittings come in 1/8 NPT, and some people like to buy BSP to NPT adapter, I usually run a 1/8th die over my NPT threads and it works like a charm.

so this is my question ... is that damn fitting 1/8 BSPT of NPT ??

i found this on SPORT COMPACT CAR

Begin by removing the factory oil pressure sensor and set it aside. Since the hole is of the BSPT thread type, the male BSPT end of a BSPT- NPT pipe tee will need to be threaded into place, leaving the two 1/8-inch NPT female ends exposed. Teflon paste or Hondabond is your best bet for sealing this fitting into place. Spare the Teflon tape for your next home improvement project, as pieces can easily find themselves lodged in the oil line here.

im so confused by the NPT and BSPT ... so .. if anyone knows... please .. help! all i want is my damn autometer oil pressure gauge to work ... i kno what i have to do to install it .. but i dont have the size!! ah!

NPT=National Pipe Thread
BSPT=British Standard Pipe Thread

Mechanical oil pressure gauge:roll: Are you sure you are going to be okay having a little nylon tube conducting your engine oil under pressure?

correct, you have to get a BSPT to NPT converter....I got mine at autozone, but had to order it

you know I'm not sure.

I would think it would be metric tapered rather than British.

Metric tapered is expressed the same as a regular metric bolt but ends in a T

ex: 8 X 1.25 T

But I don't know, I guess I never paid attention to the thread pitch on it. :what:

Pull the oil pressure sensor out and get a ride up to the hardware store. You can size up your T there.
