ok.. my driver side inboard boot has a hold in it and is leaking grease.. so i head to the shop to take it off and put a new one on.
i call O'reillys, the local auto parts chain. ask them if they have one for my car (2000 Civic Si, w/o ABS, blah blah blah)
they have one! YAY!
so i goto the shop and take my axle off. orielys gets the new axle delivered to me. i open the box and its wrong.. way wrong..
the one i pull off my car is like 2 peice... a half shaft then a long solid shaft, and on the long solid shaft is a rubber stabilizer deal, and then theres a steel bracket that bolts onto the block of the motor.. now
the new one i got out of the box had none of these things.. it was just 1 peice, and one solid shaft with the cv boots on the ends. and it was around 2 to 3 inches shorter.. i went to 4 other auto parts stores.. and they show me the same exact thing.
anyone else had this annoying ass problem? if so, how do i fix this ordeal? thank you.
