B & M or AEM regulator?

The B & M fuel pressure regulator is only $70CAD and the AEM one is $230CAD. Is there a difference between the two? I have looked on B & M's website and they list no specs so I was wondering if anyone knew?

Thanks

the b&m is basically just a mod to your stock regulator. If you don't want to hack up your stock, then get the aem.

there is a HUGE difference.. and here is the difference..

aem - adjustable return orfice that will accomidate higher powered fuel pumps

the B&M will just rise the fuel pressure

what do you need it for.. that would help me recomend one for you

you definately dont need a fuel pressure regulator.

was the car tuned on a dyno after you installed the cams? if not im sure there is still a lot of power waiting to be made with a proper tune.

I was under the impression that any extra air flow over and above stock required added fuel pressure. I read that in a honda tuning magazine

how can i explain it best. any airflow over and above stock requires more fuel not fuel pressure. adjusting you fuel pressure is one way of adding fuel but it adds fuel across the entire rpm and load range. where as some mods dont give more air accross the entire rpm range, for example those cams might only help the motor breath in the upper rpms.

to get the proper amount of fuel for the added mods you need a tuned ecu. for the most part you dont need to adjust fuel pressure, unless you are reaching the limitation of injectors in which case its better to get larger ones anyway.

weve used stock fuel pressure regulators in cars making over 500whp thats a lot more air than stock but with larger injectors and proper tuning its not an issue.
