I need some help. Please reply.

Car: Honda Civic SiR 1999
Engine: B16A2 Stock
Milage: 60,500 miles

I am currently saving money to finally make my dream come true an force introduce my engine. I am planning on buying a Greddy turbo kit in 5 - 6 months. I have heard that this kit is VERY reliable and it wont kill the engine, and it will give it very decent power.

Here is the question: If i install the Greddy Kit on my car, could I count on my engine to be reliable for 60,000 more miles, having said that the kit will be installed when the engine will have 65,000 miles. It is my only car and i want to use it as an everyday driver. My desired boost level is 8 psi , with this amount of pressure will the completely stock engine withstand the stress for a long time? Do i have to forcefully change something (clutch? rods?) to run the kit at 8 psi and be VERY reliable?

Thanks a lot.

clutch yes, if you have a good tune or just leave it at the set boost level that greddy sets it at you'll be fine, when you start changing stuff is when you loose your reliablity if not done right, a buddy of mine put the kit w/ intercooler and bov on his em1 and its been fine since then only needing a clutch (which he found out right away)

8psi will be fine, you could get a boost controller and boost 10 psi for when you wanna race someone or go to the track... a good tune is gonna make or break ya on the reliability factor, get tuned at partial and full throttle for low and high boost settings

Have it dyno tuned and you'll be set for quite a while at 8psi. Every engine wears depending on care and the driver. If you drive like an old man it'll last forever, drag at every stop light and even a stock motor won't reach 100k. I'm sure that with a good tune even tearin ass around town you'll get another 60k easy.

Make sure to get an intercooler and maybe a bov as well.

-I'm envyous!

Fuel management can make or break your motor. I see it happen too many times. Chip your ecu. Period. Greddy emanage will work but its just not worth buying when u can have ur ecu chipped and have more tuning potential. Hondata is a favorite of mine that has never given me to many problems. Many people claim a night and day difference on gredy emange and Hondata. You can skimp on other parts and get by but not on fuel management. Itll catch up to you in the end. Blown motors arent alot of fun.

I think he's getting a greddy kit, which should come with the e-manage. I would say chip it, but if he's getting an e-manage anyway; then just go with that. Make sure to get the optional ignition control harness for the e-manage. Standalones usually just trick the ecu into seeing less air than there is. This is fine, but your car will try to advance the timing to match, which is really bad for a turbo setup. This is usually what makes chipping so much better, because you can control both timing and fuel but the emanage is a pretty powerful system and can handle both (with the timing harness).
