I just put together my turbo setup,i got a t3/t4 .63 turbonetics turbo,i only have my 5 psi spring in the wastegate right now,i was wondering what would be the highest boost on could run on my stock b16 saftley. im planning on doing the headgasket and headstuds in a couple months and then building up the engine next winter

the standard is 3x the spring weight. with a 5psi spring, you can safely run up to 15 psi, but id reccomend staying below 12 or so to ensure theres no spiking

I am not agreeing with you on that. Thats what you can run on a wastegate with a 5psi meaning adding a boost controller to allow the wastegate to go to 15psi before it starts to spike. Right? Running on a stock b16a2 it's not all about what psi to run, but more how much HP can the bottom end take before you have problems. With a turbo like that he can run about 7-9psi but I would have it tuned or dyno it to get the correct HP to a stock block. I would run around 240whp to a stock block. You could slap on a small turbo like from a eclipse gst and run 12lbs of boost and get around 240whp or you can run a bigger t3/t4 turbo and run 8lbs and get 240whp. Those are just estimates though. To be safe at least get a dyno run so you can keep the whp to a save level on a stock block. Hope that helps a little.

i answered his question about what he can run on the wastegate spring, not what he can run on his block. 300 whp is the normal maximum for a stock b series block with a decent tune, with a very good tuner, 350+ is possible.

Tuning is so f**kin crucial. it can make or break ur engine. everyone p,lease get ur vafc and fmu's and donate them to a friend u dont like. Jeff evans has tuned some incredible engines running stock sleeves throwin down numbers in the 400whp range.

Thats what I thought you were trying to get at, just making sure.

im only thinking on boosting 7 psi for a while,im using my vafc to tune my dsm injectors. i know its not the best way but im kinda broke right now. I do want to build the engine but not till next winter or untill something breaks.
