B16A2 Alternator Bracket

Hey Guys,

I'm in need of an Alternator Bracket for a B16A2 (out of a 2000 Civic Si). Can I use any B-Series Alternator Bracket or does it have to be the B16A2 Alternator Bracket in order for it to work? The B16A2 is going into an EK. Can anyone point me in the right direction, so I know if I can use any B-Series Alternator Bracket or if it has to be a B16A2 Alternator Bracket. Someone told me that they believe that the newer B16's had a different Bolt Bracket Combo. He said that any B-Series Alternator Bracket should bolt to the block, but it may have a different Top Bolt/Nut - Is this true? I need to buy one ASAP, but I dont want to end up getting the wrong one or anything like that ... Thanks in advanced guys ... BTW, I tried searching, but couldn't find anything specific regarding this one, so any help would be appreciated ...

Posted this on H-T and someone said that any B-Series Alternator Bracket would work, so I did some more searching for confirmation and hardly found anything, but I did come a cross a Post that someone made. The post stated that I would need to get a hold of an Alternator Bracket from an OBD2 B-Series, because of the difference in the Mounts. Supposedly the Alternator's Holes wont line up with the Bracket if the Bracket is a OBD1 or OBD0. I have no idea if this is true, but can someone shine in some light on this? I really need to know which Alternator Bracket can be used for a B16A2 Alternator besides the EM1 Bracket. Thanks guys :thumbsup:

There is different mounts for different alternators.

Here is some of my past experience.

I had a jdm obd1 b16. I thought the alternator was going bad so I had a obd1 b18b ls alternator laying around.

Tried to bolt the ls alt. to the b16 block would not work. Brackets are different.

Different motors have different brackets.

I believe all b16's use the same bracket but I can't confirm. Just get the bracket from the same motor that you have.

Compare part numbers. Call up Honda get the numbers for a 99-00 civic b16 and one from a 92-97del sol b16.

Found a B16A2 Alternator Bracket, so I'm good to go ... Thanks for all your help bro, it was much appreciated. All I need is the lower Alternator Bracket Bolt.
