I currently have a B16A2 in my 95 hatch and its time for boost..

Which is the better option for as close to mid 11's the B16A2 turbo'd or a B18C5 Turbo?

Any pros and cons of the two?

both will get you there with forged internals, high boost, and proper tuning.

However since u already have a b16, I would stick with it. b/c that type r motor is EXPENSIVE. Then to add the cost of a turbo on it...... see where im going?

b16 w/internals and turbo= $4000 if you DIY ($2500 for turbo kit 1grr+ for internals)
b18c5 w/internals and turbo= $7000 if you DIY (4grr for the motor 1grr for forged internals 2 grr for turbo)

hehe man the list goes on and on . . . . ignition+cap+coil, bigger injectors (the ones included in kits usually are too small for high boost), boost controller, turbo timers not necessary but nice, good suspension, traction bars are good, gauges, motor mounts inserts (or some nice solid mounts), upgrading radiator & fan is always a good idea too, etc . . . all i can think of off the top of my head right now

i guess a lot also depends on what kit (if any) is used. the only kit imo worth buying is the full-race. all the other kits u will end up changing out parts (to get to 11 secs) like the turbo, manifold, wastegate, bov, etc..

and ya slicks would def be a must to hit an 11sec run.

you'll need over $5k-7k in turbo and internal parts.. to get 11s consistant you gotta be pulling about 400whp. turbo parts for b series motor are not as cheap as you think.. some people pay over 1k just for the turbo manifold.

Where the hell are all these B18C5s coming from?

Everytime I turn around some noob's asking, "ooh should I get a B18C5?" "How much horsepower can I get with a turbo B18C5?" "My friend is giving me his B18C5 coz he's getting a K20..." "I beat John Force with my N/A B18C5 in a 7th gen coupe...."

Last time I checked it was a 5 grand motor.

Just for fun I'm going to a Chevy forum and asking if I should turbo my 67-69 302...or aluminum 427 ZZ1

Maybe some people don't know about the B18C5 as much as the B16A2, which is why I am asking! It was just a question!

All I wanted to know was wether a turbo B16A2 is better that a B18C5... or wether the B18 has more boost potential!

since you already have a b16, stick with it. add mods to that. its still a good engine. but you want more boost, probably a good choice is the LS b18. i don't suggest goign for a type r motor, its too much just for the motor. the LS motor is about 1500 +??? the most.

ur gonna need a lot of cash for 11's, theres a "sleeper" si in honda tuning with 420whp and its running a 11.997, so ur gonna need about 450-460 to be running constant 11's, on slicks. if ur staying with the b16, get a gsr bottom end for more boost, the b16 head flows good enough for that power, but any 4 banger making that amount of power is gonna = $$$$. also keep in mind after 300whp more attention should be focused on traction and getting the power to the ground, cuz 400 crank hp on a shitty clutch and tires wont get you anywhere faster than 320hp with great traction and all that s**t. good luck holmes

as you already have the b16 i recommend you to stick with it .... why don you try this

block guard
je pistons
crower rods
titanium valve springs
titanium valves
lsd
axels
RPS max series clutch 1200lb+

full race header
hks SS blow off valve
t3/t4 turbo
FMIC
s200 hondata
450cc injectors
warlbro 225lph fuel pump
bigger fuel rail
3 inch downpipe
catback
turboxs boost controller at 15 17psi
98octane gas

slicks

i think you have enough with that to run 11 or so...................
just tune it fine

I just want to say that this is the kind of information that needs to be given more often. I know I myself am always looking for answers like this.

I'm guessing this would still be a really good setup for a b18c1?

Also what are the most common sizes (not THE most common but a couple, I am looking to see what is bigger than a t3/t4) of a turbo?

well yup you can use that setup in the b18c but it will be an extra cashto change de motor .... insteaqd use that money to add a nx intercooler sprayer to get la 40hp+ ....... and a bigger turbo mmmm well while the turbo gets bigger de lag also so thats why i recommend the t3/t4 its like in balance hehehe
