watup guys.....well i bought another engine...d16y8....110k miles...175$ bucks!......friend is doin a swap...

well i want to build this lil d16 up....yea yea...do a swap.......i want to be differnt

so we tore the engine apart last night

i want to know....

im going to do eagle h-beam rods....could i throw b18 aftermarket pistons on it.....if i got the block new sleeves....would i need to bore it out some...or is there enought room.....for the new sleeves...

i want some torq for this lil guy....and then a bunch of boost! :shock:

why not just get the correct aftermarket pistons?

You want to be different and waste money huh. Well thats my opinion.

No you cant do it cause the bore of that motor (D16) is 75mm & B18 pistions are 81mm..

Upgraded bottom end components:
-LS rods with stock SOHC pistons
-LS rods can be found cheap
-Big end bore width milled to match D16 crank's rod journals. Small end bore bushed to match D16 piston's smaller pin size. The difference in big-end width is about 0.035". The pin on the LS pistons is 0.826", the pin on the D16 pistons is 0.748. You need the custom made bushing that crower sells.

Approximate Cost:
-4 LS rods rebushed= $32
-Custom bushings from Crower= $32
-Mill the sides of the large end of the 4 rods to fit crank= $35
-Remove LS pistons from rods, remove Y8 pistons from rods and put Y8 pistons on LS rods= $40
Total: $139
This is probably good for up to 250+HP

what if i went with the eagle rods...and then new forged pistons....9.0:1....what do you think the hp capacity would be.....i want to turbo this lil guy
