so i finally got me a b18b and im going boost. What do i have to do to it internally to make it hold 12 psi or 10psi daily driving?? im probably going to run a cable ls tranny in my eg as well. Also what kinda boost can this engine hold stock daily driving?? Im going to run a phearable.net ecu with this setup on a T3 super 60 turbo

stock you can run 5-6 psi daily driver safe, but for higher daily driving boost, you will need to build the block for low compression and do some fuel upgrades

look thru the forced induction area of the forum, theres tons more info. there

Depending on the turbo will yeild where you should start to worry about the block. I have been running 10-12 psi daily no issues on a totally stock block. I know of people on bone stock blocks 15psi daily no issues. If I dont sell my car ill eventually be on 15psi daily until summer when i build the block.
Stock sleeves can hold a good deal of pressure, and I plan to run in the 400whp on stock sleeves, just forged pistons and rods.

Just make sure you get a good tune, if you plan to run a decent amount of boost get it tuned. You say you plan on a phearable.net ECU...thats great, I got mine from him. But dont plan to daily drive on his basemap, if your getting it tuned by him then thats awsome....just dont run for any decent time beating a car on someone's basemap or your asking for trouble.

yea i know of a couple people running around on basemaps (dumasses) im gonna get the ecu then the car running the str8 to the tuner!!! but you think that my stock ls can hold 10psi daily?? Ive heard of a few people using the vitara pistons in DOHC motors is the possible?? good results??

Vitara pistons are used in SOHC motors. The DOHC bore I believe is 81mm...and the SOHC something like 75mm, around there.

Also, you can just get a obd1 p75...or whatever, im running a p06 or something but once chipped it wont matter. It dosent have to be from him, because once you get it chipped your replacing whatever he did to the ECU anyway.

You wont have any issues running 10psi with a decent tune. Only issue is that boost is addicting, and if your like me, you want more:twisted:

What manifold are you using, exhaust setup, DP size etc. It all depends on tuner, and your setup. If you have crappy parts and a good tuner, you could be limited and vice versa. Just to give a example im bone stock b18b1 motor, and with my setup i put down 276whp and 237wtrq at 12psi

A bone stock LS block can run on 10 to 14lbs psi as a dialy driver with no problem as long as you drive normal and do not boost the car every time you accelerate, you'll be fine. It puts strain on the pistons, rings, and eventually will cause the rings to wear out and you will lose compression and get oil blow-by.

I wouldnt run any more than 7psi on stock internals. my DD on 10-12psi I would say stronger pistons and rods, and a good engine management system. chrome and hondata to name two.
