nut sure. I know it's not good to turbo the Type R. it has to do with the cam timing.

yes they do its hard to get much boost out of them and they need awesome tuning for anything over 5psi.

Get a C1 if you want a turbo. A B16 would be good too.

get a b18c1 and boost it. why do you think the b16a and b18c are the most swaped engines? because they are cheaper and have MANY more options for upgrades. if you get a b18c5 you'll run out of stuff to do. turbo is not a good idea on a type R. on the other hand, there's many people with boosted GSRs. I think there are even a few on CC. Go with the setup that you know works good. I can tell you right now, I'd buy a GSR over a Type R anyday. the Type R's are over rated. give me that extra 1k that I save going with the GSR and I'll have it boosted and leaving the Type R in the dust.

it's not that. a b18c5 has different cam timing. I know handlebars will know but I think it has to do with the intake valves and exhaust valves being open at the same time. I beileve what happens is that both valves are open for a split second but creates a vacume which sucks in the fresh air quicker. this is good for a N/A car. for FI it's very bad. what's the point of forcing air in when it's just going flow right out?

you need to retard the timing. www.honda-tech.com has turbo type r's and they are running like 9lbs with stock compression. put some gsr cams in it, get a hondata, get a good tuner, youll be all set.

I would go with a b16a or a non-vtec B18. But if you have the money try going for a b20/vtec. Thats if you want.
