are you planning to sleeve the block? b/c b20's are NOT bread for boost.. you might get away with a lower boost setup if you have a really good tune and dont cut any corners. i'm not saying it cant be done, i just dont recommend it. but if you are serious about making power on a stock motor with boost you need a 1.8L block, b/c a b20 is simply a bored out b18
putting a vtec head on a b20 is relatively simple and pretty common. i had a b20vtec N/A for about a year. pulled strong til the HG popped
. you can expect anywhere from 15-30hp from swapping the head, but remember that b20 internals werent designed for 8k+ rpms
the best fuel management system for a custom setup like that is a fully programmable ecu. a piggyback is definitely a no-no, and you dont have a lot of flexibility with a chipped ecu once its done. with a programmable you can always update the tune for modifications down the road
any b-series hydro tranny should bolt up. a GSR would be fine... it all just depends on what gear ratios you want; if you do more highway or city, gas mileage goals, etc
