B20 with a gsr head problems

Alright first off, the car is a little ghetto but, it's running a little too rich and puffs a little black smoke when starting/reving. How can I fix that? I run premium because my hondata computer says to.
And when I'm running under 2k Rpm it's really weak and wants to bog down. Idk what's causing it or how to fix it.
Last, the wiring off this car is nonsense and I'm almost positive my vtec isn't kicking in.

Any help appriciated.

Do you have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator?

Sounds te me that your engine has oil problems that might be in your bottem end.
Piston rings or such.
Do a compression test and see what the results are.
I'm from Holland and the names of fuel are diffrent, what is premium fuel?
Here we have normal (95 octane) super (98 octane).
