b20z vtec or not?

hey guys
i have the opprotunity to pick up a b20z long block for $150

thats either a steal or something really wrong with it.
is it worth going b20 vtec or not? for that price it sounds really good.
the guy said it still runs but it was starting to give him some problems befoe he pulled it.

he pulled it an when he drained the oil there was a few metal slivers or something and dark oil.

what do you guys think??? should i get it? is it worth the time and money to fix it and go b20vtec?

If it turns out to be crap you can probably sell off the good parts, scrap the rest and still come out on top.

Id stay away from B20 Vtec since it can't handle being beat on in those high RPM's........

wait, are you asking us if a b20z is a vtec motor? cause it isn't

if your saying its a b20 with a vtec head on it, what kind of head?

yeah it is a steal. bt it just scary not knowing whats wrong with it you know. for 15o i can easily turn that into a beast.

i know the b20z are non vtec. i was asking if it would be worth the time and money to get it.
