Bass Cd skips

i have a pioneer head unit and a single kicker L7 and when i play a cd brand new it skips like when the bass hits..not sure wat the problem...

check your wires.. could be a bad connection, also check your amp and see if everything is in the correct place

Turn the sub on and see if it skips then...may just be the headunit...

Cd player skipping or the amp losing power and shutting off for a second or two?

Its REALLY hard to get one of those cdplayers to skip from bass hitting, you have to smack those cd players pretty hard to get them to skip...

So more than likely something is grounding, or something isnt getting constant 12v.

Check the connections. If those are good, it could be because the cd player or amp is clipping.

clean the laser lens with a lens cleaner disc.


it might be barely reading the data on the disc and the slight vibration of the bass makes it skip.
It's worth a try.
