I'm going to start purchasing the peices I need to put together the system I have previously mentioned in this thread. My question is about a clamp for the battery, I have looked at some, but can't figure out how they work. Obviously they clamp to the battery, but how do you connect your power cables for your amp to the clamp as well as the cable that comes stock in your car that powers the car's circuitry?

You have to cut the oem clamp off or replace the power wire. You need a clamp with more than one input also.

I just look for the easiest rubber plug available on the firewall and punch/drill a hole in it and run the wire through. I always run the wires down the passenger side.

when i installed my system i ran all the wires through a plug that was already in my firewall. there was no need to drill any new holes at all.

yeah i didnt have to drill at all, just cut a small slit into one of the rubber grommmets, but be careful not to cut any wires/tubes.

I found the hole I'm going to be using in the firewall, thanks for the info, it helped a lot.

Back to the battery clamp...
I just purchased some 1 awg wire to run the power into my trunk, but I can't find anywhere that sells a battery clamp that has a 1 awg input as well as other inputs for things such as the cars power wires... Could you guys give me some places or links where I can find the proper battery clamp?

There's a few companies that make them. I suggest going into a car audio shop and speaking with them.
Here's a Rockford Fosgate

Phoenix Gold

Memphis

its not that I don't know of any companies who make battery clamps... the issue is that I can't find any dealers actually selling them...
