My Battery on my 03 honda civic ex (7th gen)
is dying
Im lookin to replace my stock battery (7 year battery? O_O" )

I'm running an audio system with about 350 RMS
I want to get a yellow top but thats a little overkill on my budget, like $150

I heard Kinetik, Odyssey, and Stinger were also good, but i have no idea what size will fit because group 51 are among the smallest battery sizes, and they only go by CCA, not group size

Can anyone help give me insight?

And possibly somewhere with a good deal within the bay area? (California)

Sony Xplod CDX-GT520 Head Unit

there is no need for a yellow top with your system that i can see. Just get a good replacement battery. have your alternator checked when you replace the battery just to make sure its putting out the correct amperage.

Your sony amp, bridged to the max is only producing 200 watts rms, so it should not be a current hungry amp. as long as the install is correct, a stock charging system should be fine.

save your $$ man. I think, in this situation, it would be overkill.

Yeah, I know that, but i want a battery with decent cycling abilities
able to be completely drained without fear of ruining it.

I just mostly need to know which model of the batteries would fit my 7th gen, because i know the D51 from yellow top is a for sure fit.

Im willing to spend $100 on a performance battery that lasts 10 years rather than a walmart battery for $60 to last 4

And besides, i think i'm going to upgrade my amp sometime in the near future, because 200rms is totally underpowering my JL

ah...ok. so you just want a kick ass battery anyway. fair enough. always good to upgrade. fortunately the 3 brands you mentioned have measurements on their websites. so you can just measure your current battery and see if they have an approximate match. i would guess that those three might still be out of your price range (dunno for sure). Optima has always been KIND OF AFFORDABLE and good for me. thats my .02 cents.

ya i agree...optima is pretty good imo but if you wanna cut on weight they make lightweight ones too...drycells is what they are called i think lol

Thanks manderson,
I saw the measurements on their websites, but they dont really tell me if they fit properly or not, because my 7th gen has the battery case thing im not sure if certain batteries fit, because they are a bit weird sized, would i need extra parts to secure it or not
