So i just bought a pair of Boss ch 6950 6x9 speakers.... i hooked them up to my MTX 942 amp and tuned them for what i thought was under 100 watts... needless to say after cranking it up for about 2-3 min going down the road i hear a pop and both blew.... so need less to say i need a good pair so 6X9 speakers for under 50$.... Ive been looking at some of these http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-2-MTX-XT693-6x9-640-Watt-3-Way-Car-Audio-Speakers_W0QQitemZ350316111381QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCar_Speakers?hash=item519077a615 ..... Ive had mtx audio in the past and loved the quality, but i know there is much more and hopefully better things for under 50$$$

Also if anyone could let me know what a good pair of components for a good price would be.....

Dude, you need to buy Polk speakers. they make 6x9's and if u amp them 100 watts rms each they deff wont blow, i have them in mine and i would be deff b4 they would even come close to blowing, of course i have them hooked up to a high-pass filter to keep out the lows.

but seriously polk audio is hands down the best in the business

and get 6.5 polk componats, youll have to cut a lil bit of plastic from the door panel but its fine

OP: you need to research a little about speakers before you do things like that. make sure the speakers impedence rating can handle the output ohms from the amp, and make sure the wattage output doesnt exceed the speakers rms handling. peak wattage means absolutely nothing you need to look at the rms
