Ok, if I buy a b18c1 and turbo about 8lbs of psi. what sould I rebuild? How much would it cost? The gsr engine I'm thinking about getting has 200,000 miles on it so I got some work to do to it. They want 2300 for it. Is that worth it?

what happens when you get that many miles? should I even go for it at $1000? I mean, if its not worth it at all I'll say screw it.

Have it checked for any cracks, any warpage, and have it completely rebuilt. Might not be worth it though. For a complete rebuild you should be able to find a decent lower mileage block for just as much.

Price seems way high for a 200,000 mile motor too.

200k is a lot of miles, and $2300 is a pretty steep price. i'd find the engine elsewhere...

but to answer your first question, start with rods as they are usually the first to go. u might as well do your cylinders at the same time. *(damn, i can't remember how many times i've typed the EXACT same reply here on clubcivic... this place is starting to become like superhonda with all the reposts)

If the shop you're talking about ships, post their web address or phone number. The guy who origionally posted lives pretty far away from you.

And to the origional poster, there are numerous threads where people talked about better places to buy a motor from than wherever you're willing to pay over 2k for a 200000 mile motor. I'm not sure which threads they are, but you can do a search. I've heard a lot of good things about hmotors. Someone care to post the link? I can't remember their url.

first of all, what does the motor come with? is it just the engine? does it come with tranny/ecu/wires/axels and all of that s**t? or jus the motor... if its just themotor and with that many miles tell him you'd give him $1,000 str8 up.

and even so if it does have 200,000 miles and there isnothing wrong with it, its just a motor with hella miles. might as well buidl up the motor before you drop it in. get your cylinder walls honed, the block blueprinted, machine wash the block and you got yourself a brand new block

like anfrey said, get new rods/pistons prolly pick up some eagle rods with JE pistons get your head P&P'ed and pick up the turbo kit next.

For the price of a GSR engine with less miles is giong to run you about 3grand, this will cost you that after you've already suped up the block... so its kind of a smart pick up if you can get the engine for cheap

Dont buy that thing. Its time has come and gone and should not be forced to live any longer. Even after stripping it down to nothing and finding our that the block and head were both still good, you would still have to replace EVERYTHING just to make it run again. Definently not worth 2k or 1k.

Ask for 500.
