Best Engine for a swap on a 1994 DX Coupe A/T?

I have a '94 Honda Civic DX Coupe with a K&N Short RAM Cold Air Intake and in the next few years i plan to do an engine swap and a A/T to M/T conversion. I'm looking for tips on what the best engine would be fore my little coupe. Also if you have any tips, parts list, and step by step instructions for the conversion that would be much appreciated.
