I was just wondering what brands everyone is thinking about or has in there built block. I'll start:
Arias pistons 81mm 3.192 Bs 9:1 Cr
Eagle or crower rods
Darton sleeves
stock crank
Of course the block will be bored, honed, decked, etc. and the crank will also be worked on.
Which is better for rods: Eagle or Crower? I heard that eagle are good but not for high boost. The motor will be running on 20+psi. What are your future setups?

crower rods (the i beams) handle infinite amount of power while eagles are said to handle 600hp

i hope u know ur looking at a 3-4k motor plus the turbo kit, tuning and a whole bunch of other expensive s**t
it would probably total about 5-6k in the end

Yea I know the block rebuild/sleeving will be expensive. It will be worth it when I get the motor %100 built with turbo. I have the motor %60? built not incluiding internals. Including internals I just have the head %100 rebuilt( including prot and polish, 3 angle valve job, all other internals, etc.).I was planning about 3K to rebuild the block if not a few more grand.

I have a understanding of this stuff so don't say I don't know jack! I don't know all the little details. I have a small memory problem for your info so I can't remember all the small details of things. I don't go to school and work my ass of workin 40+ hrs a week laying tile, and I save every paycheck to save up for somethin for my car to make me happy.

I probably won't have the money for my block rebuild for a few months. This thread isn't about me rebuilding my block that is in another forum. HAHA. This forum is for people to say what they think will be good for a block setup or what people have for a block setup.

we run 30psi on many of the blocks we build and using Eagle rods. You have to go with the EAgle with Big bolt ARP.
and for Crowers running infinite amount of boost... not so.

There is no ROD that is indestructible. CROWER, EAGLE, SCAT, Cunningham, PROBE, etc. are all going to buckle under pressure at some point. Theres so many factors that can cause a failure. Excessive detonation puts stress on the bearings and eventually causes rods to give out and shoot through the block. thats just one case. and theres many more.

I read up on alot of these posts and I see so much MISINFORMATION. Please research what you guys say before you post it. I always hear how "my friends' block went to crap cuz of the Eagle rods"... wHAT? little do we know that he must have been running lean and the engine detonated to a point that the pistons melted, rods failed and whole engine seized. Find out what the cause is first before we start pointing fingers.
