Blown Engine

My 96 4 door Civic engine blew a head after over heating. A friend gave me a 91 Civic Engine and doesn't know the history, but looks in good shape. Should I fix the 96 head and have it machined or rebuild the 91 and replace the engine?

I'm not sure it will fit exactly?

If your going from 1 D series to another D series you should be fine. Unless your doing a b swap

Do you have to do emission testing where you live? If so, you won't pass with the older motor.
